Today a historical strike has erupted at Tesla’s factories in Sweden with the aim of signing a collective bargaining agreement. It is a strike that puts one of the leading companies of modern, high technological capitalism against the working class. That is why we call for all comrades internationally to make practical solidarity work with the strike! Please spread and disseminate information about the strike, protest at Tesla sites in your home cities, take solidarity pictures and attempt to identify pertinent information about scab work internationally. In Sweden, Tesla is attempting to organize wide-scale scabbing along with threats to workers. It is also not entirely unlikely that “contaminated work”, work which should be impossible due to striking, is one way or another routed to other places.
In this strike everything that we, Autonom Organisering (translated to “Organising autonomously” or “Autonomous organization”) has struggled around the last few years seems to come together. From the most advanced, technological part of captal and its attempts to increase the explotation of workers, to the struggle against green capitalism we have participated in in for instance Take Concrete Action, against neocolonial imperialism and in relation to the struggle for the right to strike that we fought in the Strike Back campaign. That is to say, Tesla is a manifestation of all these contradictions in society and is therefore a good place to intervene, not as part of maintaining the reformism of the Swedish model but to make these lines of conflict explode throughout society.
