Klimafældens läger, eller Reclaim the Change som lägret hette i år, hölls mellan den 22-29:e juni i Århus, Danmark med ca. 150 deltagare. Det var ett utmärkt tillfälle för aktivister i miljörörelsen att lära sig radikala strategier och metoder för hållbar aktivism såsom gedigen säkerhetskultur. Genom workshops fyllda med kunskapsutbyte och diskussion eller skill sharing-tillfällen utforskades ämnen som förbereder deltagarna för att aktivt förändra samhället bort från kapitalismen och istället till ett av “omsorg, gemenskap och rättvisa“. Även vi deltog med en programpunkt tillsammans med en kamrat från Revolutionare Antifascister som berörde strategi i miljörörelsen samt repression mot densamma. Vi betonde där behovet av antikapitalistiska perspektiv, massaktioner och förberedelse på en ökad repression mot miljöaktivister i hela Norden.
Lägret var väl genomtänkt och organiserat, maten riktigt god och sällskapet också! Rent praktiskt så hölls lägret precis i utkanten av Århus på ett festivalområde vilket underlättade all logistik. Varje dag inleddes med ett morgonmöte där dagens arbete fördelades och organiserades och därefter följde ett antal punkter vilka var både förplanerade såväl som spontant utlysta. Dessa berörde allt från hur en bils motor fungerar till klättring för aktivister och större strategiska debatter.
En av de stora temana för lägret var antikolonialism. Det fanns förståelse för vikten av att analysera miljöförstörelse i kombination med andra maktstrukturer. Intressant var samtalen om kolonialism och rasism då målet var att bättre förstå dessa strukturer vi alla utsätts för, hur de styr våra mellanmänskliga och sociala relationer samt hur detta leder till naturens exploatering.
Dessa samtalen fördes utan att använda de analytiska verktyg och metoder som maktmedel för att dominera och för att istället lära oss att navigera i komplexiteten av våra betingelser. Samtalen, exempelvis om klass, skulle kunna ha utgått tydligare utifrån teoretiska grunder. På så vis skulle deltagarna enklare kunna fortsätta i läroprocessen och söka kunskap efter de intressanta men tillfälliga diskussionerna. För deltagarna som använde sig av det gemensamt skapade biblioteket möjliggjordes nog sådan inspiration.
Vi var imponerade av lägrets (själv)organisering och tar med oss många lärdomar från det. Vi är också glada över att se att radikala perspektiv bortom liberalismen i miljörörelsen har blomstrat även i vårt grannland. Vi ser fram mot att bygga en gemensamt, revolutionär miljörörelse i Norden, mot kolonialism, kapitalism, stat och patriarkat.
Autonom Organisering
Klimafælden’s camp, or Reclaim the Change as the camp was called this year, was held between June 22-29 in Aarhus, Denmark with approx. 150 participants. It was an excellent opportunity for activists in the environmental movement to learn radical strategies and sustainable strategies such as solid security culture. We participated with a couple of program items. Through workshops filled with knowledge exchange and discussion or skill sharing opportunities, topics were explored that prepare participants to actively change society away from capitalism and instead into one of “care, community and justice”.
The camp was well thought out and organized, the food really good as well as the company too! The camp was held just on the outskirts of Aarhus on a festival ground. Each day began with a morning plenary where the day’s work was distributed and organized and then followed a number of points which were both pre-planned as well as spontaneously organized and announced. These touched on everything from how a car’s engine works to climbing for activists and larger strategic debates.
One of the major themes of the camp was anti-colonialism. There was an understanding of the importance of analysing environmental destruction in combination with other power structures. The conversations about colonialism and white supremacy culture were interesting as the aim was to better understand these structures, which we are all exposed to, how they govern our interpersonal and social relationships and how this leads to the exploitation of nature.
These conversations were conducted without using the analytical tools and methods as means of power to dominate, and instead to learn to navigate the complexity of our conditions. The conversations, for example about class, could have been more clearly based on theoretical foundations. In this way the participants could more easily continue in the learning process and seek knowledge after the interesting but occasional discussions ended. For the participants who used the jointly created library, such inspiration was probably made possible.
We ourselves, together with a comrade from Revolutionare Antifascist, arranged a program item that touched on strategy in the environmental movement and repression against it. We emphasized the need for anti-capitalist perspectives, mass actions and preparation for increased repression against environmental activists throughout the Nordic region.
We were impressed by the (self)-organization of the camp and take many lessons from it. We are also happy to see that radical perspectives beyond liberalism in the environmental movement have flourished in our neighbouring country as well. We look forward to building a joint, revolutionary environmental movement in the Nordic region, against colonialism, capitalism, the state and patriarchy.
